Mark your calendar: the International Congress on Academic Medicine (ICAM) 2024 will take place in Vancouver, British Columbia, from April 12 to 15, 2024.

ICAM offers a diverse program that includes cutting edge plenaries tackling global themes in academic medicine, more than 450 workshops, orals and poster presentations, lectures from top PhD students and distinguished AFMC award winners as well as numerous networking opportunities. ICAM is the place for the academic medicine community to meet, network, and develop new relationships and collaborations with colleagues from around the world.

The Okanagan Charter: An International Charter for Health Promoting Universities and Colleges calls on post-secondary schools to embed health into all aspects of campus culture and to lead health promotion action and collaboration locally and globally. Created in June 2015, the Charter offers a unified language, principles, and framework, assisting institutions to inculcate health and wellbeing into the very fabric of campus culture. Experience the transformative power of wellbeing by hearing from Matt Dolf, the Co-Chair of the Canadian Health Promoting Campuses Network. Hear from Dr.Rajiv Yeravdekar Provost of the Faculty of Health Sciences at Symbiosis International (Deemed University) as he shares his experience on how implementing the Okanagan Charter at his institution translated into increased productivity, deeper learning, and an enhanced sense of community. Lastly, Dr. Victor Do will explain the journey of the Canadian Faculties of Medicine in adopting the Charter and how it can serve as a launchpad for engaging dialogues, promoting research, and triggering initiatives focused on health and wellbeing both within the campus and the wider community.
