Victor est un r\u00e9sident en p\u00e9diatrie de troisi\u00e8me ann\u00e9e et un nouveau co-r\u00e9sident en chef \u00e0 l'Universit\u00e9 de Toronto. Victor a \u00e9t\u00e9 impliqu\u00e9 dans le leadership de l'\u00e9ducation m\u00e9dicale tout au long de ses \u00e9tudes de m\u00e9decine et de sa r\u00e9sidence. Il est actuellement co-pr\u00e9sident de l\u2019Initiative sur la culture de la m\u00e9decine universitaire. Il a copr\u00e9sid\u00e9 le sous-comit\u00e9 des entrevues virtuelles et de la promotion des programmes qui a initialement \u00e9labor\u00e9 les plans de cr\u00e9ation de CANPREPP. Il a \u00e9t\u00e9 pr\u00e9sident de la F\u00e9d\u00e9ration des \u00e9tudiants et des \u00e9tudiantes en m\u00e9decine du Canada (2019-2020). En outre, Victor s'int\u00e9resse de pr\u00e8s \u00e0 l'\u00e9quit\u00e9 en mati\u00e8re de sant\u00e9 infantile et \u00e0 l'innovation dans les syst\u00e8mes de sant\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Le Dr Victor Do a re\u00e7u le Prix de leadership de l\u2019AMC pour jeunes chefs de file (m\u00e9decins r\u00e9sidents) pour souligner sa cr\u00e9ativit\u00e9, son sens de l\u2019initiative et sa volont\u00e9 exemplaires de changer les choses \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9chelle locale, provinciale, territoriale ou nationale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Comment vous \u00eates-vous impliqu\u00e9 dans l'Initiative sur la culture de la m\u00e9decine universitaire et qu'est-ce qui vous a pouss\u00e9 \u00e0 d\u00e9fendre le bien-\u00eatre des m\u00e9decins?<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    J'ai particip\u00e9 aux efforts entourant l'adoption et la mise en \u0153uvre de la Charte de l'Okanagan avant m\u00eame de commencer mes \u00e9tudes de m\u00e9decine \u00e0 l'Universit\u00e9 de l'Alberta. J'\u00e9tais enthousiaste \u00e0 l'id\u00e9e de participer aux efforts de l\u2019Initiative sur la culture de la m\u00e9decine universitaire, compte tenu de mon travail de longue date dans la recherche et la d\u00e9fense du bien-\u00eatre des m\u00e9decins et des apprenants en m\u00e9decine. Il est important d'am\u00e9liorer le bien-\u00eatre des prestataires de soins de sant\u00e9 pour qu'ils m\u00e8nent une carri\u00e8re enrichissante et productive dans la m\u00e9decine, et il a \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9montr\u00e9 qu'il en r\u00e9sulte de meilleurs r\u00e9sultats pour les patients et le syst\u00e8me de sant\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Depuis de nombreuses ann\u00e9es, je milite et je m\u00e8ne des travaux et des recherches universitaires sur le d\u00e9veloppement et la promotion d'environnements d'apprentissage favorables \u00e0 la sant\u00e9. Dans le cadre de l\u2019Initiative sur la culture de la m\u00e9decine universitaire, j'ai d'abord rejoint le comit\u00e9 ex\u00e9cutif et j'ai maintenant l'occasion d'en assurer la copr\u00e9sidence. Dans ce r\u00f4le, j'esp\u00e8re continuer \u00e0 travailler avec toutes les facult\u00e9s pour d\u00e9velopper des plans concrets de mise en \u0153uvre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    3. \u00c0 votre avis, que faut-il faire pour am\u00e9liorer la culture de la m\u00e9decine universitaire au Canada?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    <\/div>\n\n\n\n

    Tout d'abord, il faut reconna\u00eetre qu\u2019une transformation s\u2019impose. Il ne suffit pas d\u2019aborder le probl\u00e8me de mani\u00e8re superficielle. Il est essentiel de continuer \u00e0 porter notre attention sur les questions syst\u00e9miques (par exemple, les politiques, la conception du cadre de travail, les programmes de soutien aux apprenants et au personnel) plut\u00f4t que sur les comp\u00e9tences individuelles en mati\u00e8re de r\u00e9silience, sur lesquelles nous nous concentrons depuis longtemps. Il est important de faire preuve d'une grande rigueur m\u00e9thodologique et \u00e9valuative, d'un financement et d'efforts globaux pour ce travail. Il ne peut s'agir d'un projet de plus qui vient s\u2019ajouter \u00e0 la pile sur notre bureau.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    4. Quel est l'aspect de l'ICMU dont vous \u00eates particuli\u00e8rement fier?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    L\u2019ICMU est une occasion incroyable pour l'AFMC, les facult\u00e9s de m\u00e9decine canadiennes et le syst\u00e8me de sant\u00e9 en g\u00e9n\u00e9ral. La possibilit\u00e9 que les 17 facult\u00e9s collaborent pour s'attaquer \u00e0 ces probl\u00e8mes syst\u00e9miques de longue date est passionnante. J'ai \u00e9t\u00e9 tr\u00e8s impressionn\u00e9 par l'\u00e9nergie et l'enthousiasme des participants et je suis fier que la Charte de l'Okanagan ait d\u00e9j\u00e0 \u00e9t\u00e9 adopt\u00e9e par de nouvelles personnes. Je me r\u00e9jouis de pouvoir contribuer \u00e0 transformer cet \u00e9lan en un changement significatif et \u00e0 long terme. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
