The World Federation for Medical Education (WFME) has announced that Dr. Moineau has been elected as the next Vice-President and will take office on January 1, 2023. She has worked closely with WFME for many years, as an assessor in the Recognition of Accreditation Programme, as the chair of several assessment teams, and as a lead speaker at the WFME Conference in Seoul, Korea in 2019.

WFME was established in 1972 by the World Medical Association (WMA) and the World Health Organization (WHO) to enhance the quality of medical education worldwide. WFME works to support healthcare for all through promoting high quality in medical education for the estimated current physician workforce of 9.8 million (WHO, 2015) and prospective students and trainees. Current priorities include the promotion of accreditation through the WFME Recognition Programme, raising the standards for basic and postgraduate medical education and continuing professional development through the publication of expert consensus of minimum and quality standards, and maintaining the World Directory of Medical Schools.

As previously announced, Dr Moineau will continue in her role as AFMC President and CEO until June 30, 2023.
